Elena V. Chernyakova (born October 19, 1990) is an actress, model, business woman, and ex-professional tennis player. She started her acting career in July 2012 after graduating from Northwestern University with a degree in Communication Studies, Business Institutions Program, and International Studies. Over the past year Elena has already appeared in more than a dozen films and tv-shows, and is currently taking classes at the Second City training center in Chicago, IL.

 

Early Life:

Elena was born in Moscow, Russia, daughter of financier Nadezda Chernyakova and businessman Vladimir Chernyakov. When Chernyakova was 3yrs old her parents moved to Limassol, Cyprus, where Elena attended an English kindergarten. After living in Cyprus for several years Elena’s family moved back to Moscow where she grew up in the heart of city life and attended a British School for 7 years, before transferring to a Russian school.

Growing up, Elena played a lot of tennis, and began to participate in tournaments at the age of 8. Elena competed in her first international tournament in the summer of 1999 in Villeneuve Loubet, in the South of France, in an older age group, and ended up winning the tournament. Elena spent most of her teenage years travelling around Europe for tennis tournaments and has lived in Florida, Georgia, and California.

Elena was ranked #1 in Europe in 2006, and #14 in the world in 2008 before deciding to quit her professional tennis career and focusing on her education. In the fall of 2008, Elena moved to Chicago to begin her undergraduate degree at Northwestern University; she graduated in June 2012 with a degree in Communication Studies, Business Institutions Program, and International Studies.
